Suncoast Clinical Research is seeking participants between 18-75 years old with Type 1 Diabetes that are at risk for nocturnal hypoglycemia. The study is about 20 weeks (about 4 and a half months) long and includes up to 7 office visits and 2 telephone calls. You may be compensated $150 per office visit for your time and travel if you qualify.
Nocturnal hypoglycemia studies suggest that almost half of all episodes of low blood glucose occur at night during sleep. This can be potentially dangerous for people at risk from diabetes. There are tips to help lower risks of this occurring and tips for receiving help if this happens, but no current preventative medications. The purpose of this study is to look at the effectiveness of different dose levels of an investigational medication administered daily for those at risk of nocturnal hypoglycemia and to reduce events while participating in the study.
